We were to choose three dictators (hence the name) of the past and describe any patterns or similar conditions of each's rise to power in their country. Our group chose the following three dictators: Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler, and  Benito Mussolini.

During our research on these three dictators, it became clear to us that there were four similarities throughout the dictators pasts that stood out above all others. First, all three were involved in some type of socialist party before they came to power. Second, all three in some way helped their country for the better. Whether it was to gain popularity with the people, or they genuinly wanted to help their people. Third, each of the dictators respective countries were involved in a war before they came to power. And lastly, all three dictators were imprisoned at one point specifically because of their activities in a socialist party.
